My Doula Support
I offer physical and emotional doula support in Leeds, West Yorkshire and parts of North Yorkshire throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and in those important first few weeks. My support looks different for each family as it is entirely personal to you, your situation and your wants & needs.
Each pregnancy, labour, birth and newborn are totally different and unique; what works for one person and their baby usually doesn’t work for another. You are the expert on you and whatever support you are looking for I truly believe in empowering you from within while making you feel safe and supported. Find out more about the types of doula support I offer below or get in touch to discuss your needs.
Postnatal Doula Support
My postnatal doula support is usually for anyone with a baby under 12 weeks and what this looks like differs for each family based on your individual needs. I can make tea and just listen, provide evidence based information, help around the house or give you some much needed rest.
Remote Doula Support
My remote doula support allows me to work with you from afar - think of me as a doula in your pocket. Whether you are looking for support during pregnancy, birth or postnatally, I can be there to give you the support you need remotely, no matter the distance or current restrictions.
Why Happy Birthing
After my own varying personal experiences with birth, and the differences with how I was treated and cared for by different people, I realised how much of a difference it can make when you feel supported, cared for and listened to, and how much that impacts on the birth experience itself and how amazing you feel after. This makes me incredibly passionate about helping other women feel safe, supported and empowered to be able to make informed decisions and be happy with their birth.
I trained and qualified with the wonderful Sophie Brigstocke at Nurturing Birth, you can see my profile here. One of the first things we were told is “you have always been a doula”, and I feel like it’s true. I was born to be a doula, it’s in my nature and is essentially part of who I am, but training with Nurturing Birth has given me a wealth of information and a family of wonderful doulas who support each other, which helps me be better equipped to support you.
I truly believe there is a doula out there for everyone. You can only decide if you want me to support you during some of the most prescious moments of your life after we have met to see if I am right for you! It is so important to meet with a few doulas to be able to make a decision as to who works best for you.
What is A Doula?
